Seabed mobility
Coastal Research and Modelling Services Ltd
Seabed mobility
Coastal Research and Modelling Services have specialist tools to utilise model and observation data to quantify seabed sediment transport and mobility. We also have algorithms to analyse and interpret on-off and repeat bathymetric survey data. Our aim is to reduce risks and uncertainty when planning pipeline and subsea cable layouts.
Professional interpretation of seabed sediment properties and geophysial survey data
Analysis and interpretation of observational and model-derived data relevant to seabed mobility
SMART (Seabed Mobility and Risk Tool) is a Matlab code developed to calculate a range of seabed properties and morphology from sparse data.
Analysis and interpretation of seabed morphology. Rates of change can be obtained using repeat surveys and/or sediment transport theory.
Through analyses, Coastal Research and Modelling Services can provide the specialist hydrodynamic, wave and sediment data required for a full CBRA (Cable burial Risk Assessment).
Coastal Research and Modelling Services can advise on optimising cable routes across complex seabeds to minimise risks and uncertainty.
